Following a period of monitoring, we have confirmed that the issue has not recurred and have concluded the monitoring.
The root cause was TCP/IP connection management. To prevent recurrence, we will update both the server side and the SDK so that connection problems are detected sooner and reconnection happens faster.
We are continuing to monitor for any further issues.

Monitoring
We have found that about 40–50% of device connections in the obnizCloud Japan region had TCP/IP connections that stayed open on the connection servers when they should not have. We believe vulnerability countermeasures at a domestic server vendor caused the network to behave differently than usual.
Device-to-cloud connections may have dropped briefly, but everything else worked normally. For some devices, services that keep a persistent connection could be affected. These include obniz.js, Pipeline, obniz Now and other always-on services. After a device went offline and came back online, the system might not detect a later disconnection, so the device could stay unreachable for several minutes. We are continuing to monitor the situation in case the issue happens again.
We have not seen this issue in the obnizCloud US region.

Investigating
We are now investigation connection issue on obniz.js connection to the cloud system.
